REFLECTIONS OF THANKSGIVING 2013

MEMORIES:This is what it’s all about. Doing what you can do, while you can and doing as much as you live day to day. This is so important to find a way to be grateful in EVERYDAY not just on holidays.

FAMILY: I’m thankful. we had our niece and nephew come down for a night, good food, fellowship and we put up the Christmas tree. Thanksgiving service today…. WORSHIP was short, sweet and rewarding. Spent most of the day with FRIENDS: Great Food from the traditional to woodland creatures. 🙂 Spending the evening with a Hallmark movie, coffee and Pie. QUALITY TIME. The hubby has partial prepared our NEWLYWED MEAL. TurDuckHen, Corn Pudding, Cabbage and I’ll make  Eggnog for tomorrow. We will EAT good all week, then hit the gym FOR REAL.

I have a million thoughts running through my mind as I feel the pain of those who are not so happy this holiday. Losing Loved ones at such a memorable moment. No, it is never easy but…..

Other Family far away: I invited a few of my family who couldn’t make it and that made me sad. I talked to my mom today wish things were different. Have a texting kinship with my other niece, wish we were closer. Homeless people: We saw a few today and it really made me think about life and what it means on days like this. My husband suffered a few health challenges two weeks into our marriage and we’ve been fighting them every since. HEALTH is precious.

Over the past month; 2 people I know, committed suicide. 3 young people reached out to me about death in their lives, trying to deal with it with unanswered questions I had no answers to. An uncle, an aunt, a grandmother. One lady lost her baby after trying for years. So much sadness, pain yet surrounded by others who are filled with so much joy.

Everyday I see both smiles and tears behind the smiles. How does one see such? It’s in the sighs, the stares, the silent praises that flow from the lips, the pleas for closeness, comfort and assurance just by partial stories.

My prayers are with the grieving families who will bury their love ones in the next few days. My prayers are with those who are about to embark on new lives together. My thoughts are with those I know but don’t know because their story is also my story.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LIVING AND HOLIDAYS, I BELIEVE WE ALL SHARE IN SOME MANNER IS….. HOW I CAN SUM IT UP IN FIRST PERSON VOICE.

I’m Thankful for Today. I’m blessed. I’m wounded. I’m hurting. I’m excited. I’m SO Full 🙂 I’m anticipating the next round in the stage of life and you know  DESPITE IT ALL……  WITH GOD ON MY SIDE IT IS ALL GOOD.

Happy Thanksgiving! Happy ThanksLiving! (not an original)

LIVE is about keeping the MAIN thing, THE MAIN THING and seeing life THROUGH GEWANDA’S EYES.
